ok, so, i am watching 'What's with that house' on HGTV
and they are at a house, of course.

now, i live in reno, nv. it gets cold. we know about heated driveways. we know about radiant floor heating in all sorts of uses.

this house had multiple concrete slabs in the yard/patio area
each one had it's own switch to turn the radiant floor heating, on and off.

ooohhhh, that sounds niiiiiiccccce.

but wait, where is the house?
Venice, CA.

where the temperature might drop to 60 something at night.

oh, by the way, the thermal mass of concrete is HUGE
which is good, because once it is warmed up, it takes a long time to cool down.
but do you know how much time and energy it takes to heat it up
